On Friday, March 2, Marty was buried in an a avalanche at Squaw Valley. The following is Christine's facebook message:
"I’m sure most of you know by now but for those of you who haven’t heard. Marty was in a large avalanche at Squaw yesterday. A very scary moment for him and us. He was buried just under the snow ski patrol was able to find him quickly and get him out. He is at Tahoe forest hospital with a broken femur on his right leg. We now just found out his other leg is fractured as well. Another surgery for him but not sure when. Updates as I know more.
Thank you to everyone for the text messages and prayers."
Marty has already had surgery on his right leg on Friday night to place a rod in his femur. He is having surgery again today to repair fractures in his left leg.
Marty will be wheelchair bound and recovering for an unknown length of time. Christine will also be assisting with his recovery and may need to take time away from work as well. We are all so grateful that Marty is alive and still with us! We would like to help ease the burden of financial stress for them so they can focus on recovery and not how they will pay their bills. Please consider donating ~ I will continue to post updates on his progress!!! Thank you!
