Hi, my name is Annmarie and I started this go fundme for my nephew Marty Laughlin. As some of you already know, Marty , most recently, has been in and out of the hospital since November 2023. He developed a wound on his foot that just wouldn't heal. His doctors believed that if the could perform a bypass by graphing a new artery in his leg it would help the healing process of the foot and open wounds. Surgery was done and the vein graph was a success. Short time later, Marty was back in the hospital facing an amputation of his toe because he was not healing. The surgery was performed and Marty was moved to rehab. While in rehab, Marty developed yet another infection that would ultimately lead to the unfavorable decision that he would need his leg amputated from the knee down. On Monday, March 4th Marty was moved to Jersey Shore medical to prepare for surgery. Wednesday, March 6th, for reasons unknown, Marty’s health took a turn for the worse. Marty was sedated and placed on a ventilator. Marty spent the next 3 days fighting for his life but eventually succumbed to his illness. He was surrounded by his family when he slipped away peacefully. At this time I am asking for donations for the family to help with funeral expenses, medical expenses and support for his daughter to help her navigate through this difficult time.
