Help Marvel - He's in Critical Care

Tax deductible
GRAPHIC POST - RnRAF volunteer Amy rescued this dog and he is in critical care. She personally went to find him and was successful in apprehending him. It was a miracle from above. Three complete strangers helped me while I gave instructions on what to do, and what not to do. They were great!

It's terrible, and the pics are graphic, so we will leave the worst ones for the end. Apparently, this male has dog has had this piece of sharp, metal, duct-like tubing on his neck since this summer! OMG. Supposedly, no one could catch him, not even Tulsa Animal Control. The tubing has cut into both ends of his neck and head. While he is safe for now, we are not sure he will pull through. He is severly enemic, may need a blood transfusion, is ehrlichia positive (tick disease) and is very skinny. No telling how he has been eating. This poor dog is in horrific shape, but he is a survivor. He spent this entire past week of frigid temperatures outside and he is still alive. The smell that is coming from him due to the infection is nearly unbearable. With lots of prayers and great medical care, he stands a chance. We all can be that chance. We can't let him down now. It's a miracle he is still alive. He even wagged his tail for me twice.

Please, we need your help. Emergency medical care is very expensive and he will be there likely through most of the weekend, if not until Monday. We realize we have been asking for donations through the end of this year already, and thank you to any and all of you who have donated. If you didn't, or if you can donate again, now is the time. This boy needs our help. You can mail a check to RnRAF, PO Box 700062, Tulsa, OK 74170-0062 or use PayPal on our website. We will list that web address in the comments below.

Thank you to Animal Emergency for their talents and dedication to him, and to OAA (Oklahoma Alliance for Animals) for being there in a great time of need. OAA helped us get him into emergency care quickly and were willing to do whatever they needed to help him and us! Thanks too to Norman Cole for sitting at AEC with me. You are a true friend.

His name is Marvel, meaning a wonderful or astonishing thing. We love you Marvel. Rest up buddy, we have big plans for you.
