Marvel Hess is the proud owner of a Marble Slab Creamery ice cream store in Sparks Nevada. Marvel woke up one day in July and found that her eyes would barely open. After seeing a few Doctors she was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. It's now November and she has just started with radiation and chemotherapy. Her symptoms have gotten bad enough that she can no longer drive, she can barely see at all. Fatigue has gotten to be a problem. Marvel was one of those people that ran circles around the rest of us all day long. Now she needs to spend half her days resting. Marvel worked at her ice cream store 50-70 hours a week and now she has to pay somebody to work most of those hours. The ice cream store has been just enough income to help pay the bills. Now that income must be paid to someone else so the ice cream store can stay open. The mortgage and other bills don't stop because she has brain cancer. On top of that there are now medical bills and travel expenses to take care of. At the end of her radiation treatment there might be a surgical procedure that she can go thru to get her eyelids to open more but the insurance company can't tell us if they will cover the cost until we schedule the surgery. Marvel is a great lady and she needs help.

To be honest it is not just to pay the bills that I am raising money for. Marvel has a bucket list. As her Husband I want her to do as much as possible on that list before her time is up. Having an inoperable brain tumor does not give good prospects for a long life. One of the things Marvel wants to do is take her three Grandaughters to Disneyland and stay at the Disneyland hotel. Whatever help that I can get to give my wife a good life for the time she has left is greatly appreciated.
