Marvin & Mary Lou Bjork Hurricane Ian relief
Donation protected
Hello, this is Cindy Morast, oldest daughter to Marvin and Mary Lou Bjork. My parents lost their home in Hurricane Ian and need help to rebuild. They are 91 and 88 years old. My sister Vicki wrote this beautiful story for a glimpse into who mom and dad are.
Thank the Lord for hayrides...
Hi, my name is Vickilyn Bjork. I'm trying to raise funds for my parents Marvin (91) and Mary Lou (88) Bjork, who recently lost everything in hurricane Ian. My parents met when they were 14 and 17 years old on a hayride. They married on August 30th 1952 in Minneapolis Minnesota. They have 4 children, 20 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. They moved to Florida to retire many years ago. For years, dad worked to remodel nearly every room of their home to make it just right to settle in for their ‘golden years.’ They just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in their beautiful home in North Port. One month later hurricane Ian totally destroyed their home. A collection of 70 years and my mother's paintings left in mud, water, and debris. Praise God they were safe in a hotel. They are devastated emotionally, financially and need much help.
When I was young, one of my dad's sayings was "Give your givin while you're livin so you're knowin where it's goin." Seems fitting for the situation.
They now need to demolish and rebuild. We have a big goal but ‘many hands make light work.’ Anything you could donate would be used to help with this and be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading. Respectfully yours, Vickilyn Mary Bjork. (Marvin & Mary Lou's daughter)
