Marvin Mayfield Organizing Fellowship
Donation protected
Our beloved Director of Organizing, Marvin Mayfield, was a brilliant and buoyant warrior for freedom and justice.
We invite you to donate toward Marvin's funeral expenses and to begin a Marvin Mayfield Organizing Fellowship in his honor. This fellowship will provide an opportunity for formerly-incarcerated leaders to develop skills in legislative organizing, community building and public speaking to end mass incarceration.
Marvin was a freedom fighter in the tradition of the Black Liberation, Prisoner’s Rights and Long Civil Rights movements. He led with his heart and love for the people and his family. Marvin galvanized our communities to protect bail reform, end racist and unjust sentencing, support parole justice, and win a Clean Slate for people with conviction histories. He did this with a deep and unwavering belief that the world can and will change - and that it starts right here, in our homes and neighborhoods in New York.
Anywhere people are fighting for freedom and justice, Marvin's spirit is there.
