Marvin to Spain (#MarvinGerzy2024)

I am of Ghanese descent and I hope to achieve greatness to inspire the Akan people.

My dream is to broaden my horizon by learning different languages and experiencing cultures around the world. This summer, the Council on International Educational Exchange, or CIEE, has given me a once in a lifetime opportunity to study in Spain.

This opportunity gives me the chance to fulfill my dreams of learning Spanish while experiencing the beautiful culture of Spain. I am nervous, but at the same time, ecstatic to travel to Spain. It will be my first time traveling to a different country without my parents. I look forward to making tons of new friends in the program, connecting with the locals, and exploring the splendid city of Madrid.

At the end of this program, I will grow mentally and emotionally, achieve my dream of speaking Spanish, a third language to have under my belt along with Twi and English, which paves the way for me to strive towards other goals in my life and inspire others to pursue their dreams as well.

Learning Spanish opens the door for me to communicate with a large number of people in the world. I am very blessed and fortunate to be given a scholarship to participate in the “Spain Madrid Spanish Language & Culture Program”. The scholarship covers a portion of my tuition, however, I will need to raise the rest of the money before April 15th.

Below is a list of the expenses that I need help covering before I fly out in June.
