IN TRIBUTE TO DENNIS & IN SUPPORT MARY ANN MCHALE

I have a beautiful friend Mary Ann, who is a wonderful, magnanimus, and caring person. I'm certain that she would give me her last dime if I needed it. Rarely are we so lucky to make such a friend!

She met her true love Dennis late in life and they got engaged in 2019. They had so many beautiful things in common, most notably their good wit, intellect and love of writing. Unfortunately, in 2020 Dennis was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer. But that didn't stop them and they were married in May of 2021 in front of the hundreds-year-old roots of a tree in Zoro Garden, Balboa Park. They chose to begin their lives “deeply rooted” in their faith and love for one another.

Dennis is a fighter and has been through multiple rounds of treatment for his cancer. Mary Ann is a female warrior and has been through everything by his side through thick and thin. Often times when Dennis couldn't speak for himself, she was his advocate, reminding the doctors of his last test results, his medications or any other vital medical history necessary for his treatment.

Just today his MRI showed multiple lesions in the brain. Next, he will see a neurosurgeon.

Now more than ever, they need our generous love, prayers and support.
