Mary Dean's Roscoe Fund
Donation protected
Mary Dean loved a lot of places, but her favorite place of all was probably on the back of a horse.
Mary passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 69 years old. Mary's lifelong love was horses. She and her husband Mick built a home and a life in Bucyrus, Kansas, where she cared for many pets over the years. Nameplates remain in the barn that she and Mick built for the horses and ponies she brought to Bucyrus over the years: Peppy, Pie, Peggy Sue, Dolly, Elmo, and Roscoe. There was a never a day in Bucyrus without a horse to go visit in the barn.
When Mary passed away, Roscoe was her only horse left at Buck-a-Board Farm. A wonderful woman named Lisa Everson took Roscoe to a new home, but we want to help Roscoe be as comfortable as possible in the future.
Mary will be laid to rest on Saturday, February 10, at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Bucyrus, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, her husband Mick and her children have set up a fund to help with the care of feeding of her beloved Roscoe for the rest of his life.
