Mary Duda Fire Loss

Hi, my name is Bernadette Duda. On behalf of my brothers and sister (Joe, Mike, John, Tom and Julie). In the early hours of Sunday, February 25th, our sister Mary suffered a devastating loss of her home and her beloved dog Halle in Boynton Beach, Florida. Her home caught fire and was gone in 5-6 minutes.

Mary is left with a tote of items and the clothes on her back. She was sleeping when she heard a beeping sound (smoke alarm) and pounding on her door. It was her neighbor Ernie yelling at her to get out while his wife, Viola called 911. Mary couldn't see her hand in front of her face due to the intense smoke and yelled at Ernie to keep knocking so she could get to the door. Thankfully their two dogs were barking and jumping to wake them up.

Unfortunately, her dog Halle didn't make it despite Firefighters effort to resuscitate her. Mary said she was never a barker. We are holding this GoFundMe in hopes of helping our sister get back on her feet after such a tragic loss. When she paid off her mortgage her insurance non-renewed due to her living in a hurricane zone.
