Mark Franey Kicks ALS

Friends and Family of Mark Franey,

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your help and support for my dear friend Mark Franey who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in September 2020. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Mark, Christina, Luke, and Liam's lives continue to change as his ALS evolves. That is why I have created this GoFundMe campaign for Mark and his family. My goal is to raise enough money to cover expenses associated with his ALS, including medical bills, equipment, and care costs. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a significant impact on Mark's life.

This is a deeply personal cause for me, as I grew up watching my father's college friend battle ALS. Seeing the impact that this disease had on my father's friend and his family was upsetting, but hard for a kid in elementary school to really grasp. That said, to this day I remember how difficult it was for him to complete even the most basic tasks, and how quickly his condition deteriorated.

Now, with Mark facing a similar battle, I am reminded of the importance of coming together as a community to support those in need. The financial burden of medical bills, equipment, and care costs can be overwhelming for those facing this disease, and I am determined to do everything in my power to help my friend and his family during this difficult time.

Mark is a warrior; he never asks for help. I know that he will continue to battle this disease with the same self-sufficiency, strength, and resilience that has always defined him. With your support, we can help ease the burden of this difficult journey a little bit and allow him to focus on what really matters – spending time with his family and loved ones.
