Mary Geoghegan, of Dorchester, MA

Hi. My name is Lisa Hynes, and I am fundraising for Mary Geoghegan.

 

Danny Manning has left us, suddenly, and far too soon. Danny was the kind of selfless, humble, hard working, and generous guy that anyone who was fortunate enough to have met, even once, would have left an indelible mark on your soul. He was eternally happy, had a contagious smile and twinkling eyes that emitted his joyful spirit. Everyone wanted to know Danny and was better for having done so. You instantly felt happier in his presence. He was a jack of all trades and built his own career using his talent and knowledge of building and fixing things, while also fulfilling his passion to do good. What people may not know is that he would often complete jobs for free or for very little money. He did this because of the human he was… a saint on earth.

 

Danny leaves another, equally as caring, self-sacrificing, dedicated, and devoted partner behind. Mary Geoghegan, “his Mary”, beloved partner of 42 years has the unbearable task of continuing to live her life without “her Danny". Mary has devoted her existence to the education of young children. She has molded the minds, nurtured the souls, and genuinely loved, hundreds, if not thousands of inner city children and their families. She has encouraged, mentored, and guided numerous adults as well, myself included. She catapulted my love of teaching and pushed me to follow my educational path to be the most successful I could be. She continues to work with young children and now, deserves a chance to survive without additional financial worries, now that she is missing her quite literal, ‘other half’.
