Her husband of 56 years, Jim "Mr. Jim/Coach” Hannaway; his daughters Lorna Lodholz and husband Ron, Nicola Hannaway; his sons Brian Hannaway and spouse Terry, Stephen Hannaway and spouse Nicoll; and his 6 grandchildren, Grace Lodholz, Jonas Lodholz, Aubrey Lodholz, Addison Hannaway, Finley Hannaway and Frank Hannaway.

Her sister Grace Cunningham; her father James Cunningham and her mother Grace Cunningham

Mary was born in Coatbridge, a small town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland, about 8 miles east of Glasgow. In 1971 she immigrated to the United States for a "two-year stay"...and never left. She raised a family of four, taught competitive ballroom dancing, and spent over 20 years as a teacher, preschool director, and "Mrs. Mary H" for Good Shepherd school and parish in Decherd, TN. In her 78 years, she never met a stranger and remained in Tennessee because she loved all the "characters." She treated every child that came through her preschool like her own and everyone she met became a friend for life. She was dedicated to her church and never thought twice about stopping everything to help someone in need.

Her kindness and generosity combined with her determined personality made her a unique spirit leaving a life-long legacy. She will be dearly missed.
