Mary Kay Burdett

Hi, my name is Joanne, a very dear friend of Mary Kay's. Mary Kay fought a fierce battle with cancer since 2021. Sadly, her battle came to an end today. She is now in a better place with her parents and brother. I have started a Gofundme to help her children with funeral expenses. As I'm sure many of you know, Mary Kay did not have a lot of money, but she had what many do not have, the love of her husband, children, grandchildren, and so many friends! But the funeral expenses are looking like they will be $12,000, and her children are having a hard time coming up with this.

Mary Kay was one of my dearest friends, like a sister. We have shared so many fun times and laughs through the years! Mary Kay worked for the Rush-Henrietta School District as a teacher aide, mainly as a 1:1 aide for most of her 22 years with RH. I had the privilege of working with her for quite a few of those years. She held every one of the students she worked with, dearly to her heart!

When it comes to family, Mary Kay's number one priority was her children, Jenny, Justin and Ashley. Then came the grandkids. Oh, how she loved every one of them! They were her whole world! And I can't forget her two son-in-laws and daughter-in-law. She held them in a special place in her heart! And her friends! She was always there for them. She has always been there for me! She may not have had much to her name, but if you ever needed anything, anything! She would try to help.

Whenever Mary Kay was in the hospital, or once out of the hospital, there was not a time one of her children or the older grandkids, were not there by her side. They took turns staying overnight at the hospital. They took her to all her appointments, and she stayed at their homes as she recuperated from her many procedures. Please help her children give their mom a beautiful funeral. No one deserves it more than my dear sister-friend Mary Kay.
