Help Support Mary Mohnke and Family

Mary was diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma, a rare 1 in 50,000 tumor related cancer on December 5th at only 26 years old. After months of feeling sick and slowly declining Mary went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a different type of tumor that at first they were going to try to operate on. After many test they had found it is not possible due to the amount of blood supply feeding the tumor. On December 1st Mary went under for a risky biopsy to determine the severity. She had to have blood transfusions just to be able to accomplish a biopsy. On December 5th we were completely blindsided with a call that changed our entire life. Mary was told she would be admitting herself to butterworth hospital and chemotherapy would begin immediately. Over the days we have learned she will be going through 5 different chemotherapy treatments, with each chemotherapy round lasting 8 days and a new one starting every 14 days. Some of the treatments she is having are over 12 hours long. The chemotherapy she is going through is going to be long and intense. We have no end in site. They have placed a port in Mary’s chest to transfuse the chemo directly to her heart to have the most effective efforts. She is a wife and mother of 4 young children. Between all the doctor appointments, transportation, medication, bills and holidays we are scared for our future and struggles. Mary needs to be monitored and taken care of attentively. We are overwhelmed and shattered with this news. We are shocked. We will be updating everyone with our journey. Any help with the kids, finances and comfort for Mary is appreciated more than anyone knows. She couldn’t do this alone. ❤️
