Mary Olson

Mary is a 20 year employee of Southwest Airlines. 13 of those years were in MDW,  and 7 in OMA.  In September 2016,  Mary suffered a series of strokes.  After her hospital stay,  she was treated in two different rehabilitation facilities.  In December,  her insurance company decided it was time for Mary to go home.  Mary lives alone.  Mary was far from being fully rehabilitated,  when she was forced to leave the rehabilitation center.  She could not walk at all and she was confined to a wheelchair.  For those of us that know Mary,  we know how tough she is.  She has come a long way,  but still has a long road ahead.  She still has very limited use of her left arm and cannot walk without a walker.
Mary now has rehabilitation come to her home through out the week,  as she cannot drive.  Her sick time has been depleted and she is no longer receiving any income.  Her disability,  social security,  etc.,  has not kicked in and there is no date as to when that might happen.  At this time,  it is unclear when or if Mary will return to work.  Mary still has to pay rent,  her medical bills,  prescriptions,  groceries,  and so on.  She is now going to get a bill from the insurance company for the premiums since she is no longer working.  In June,  if she is not back to work,  she will no longer have insurance.
