Mary Ruth Moran - Medical Emergency
Donation protected
Our friend, Mary Ruth Moran, is in a desperate financial situation.
She has been quietly coping with a serious illness since adolescence. Although she’s been able to manage it with a lot of care and attention throughout most of her adult life, her illness has become more severe over the past few years. Late last summer, her condition became dangerously worse, and she’s been hospitalized since October 2.
Although she has health insurance, her out-of-pocket costs now exceed $100,000. Her financial resources are currently exhausted, and she cannot pay the mounting medical bills or even her normal living expenses—such as food, utilities, car insurance, and mortgage—at this point. She is applying for assistance programs and looking into selling her home, but urgently needs funds in the short term to pay down some of her medical debt. As a result, she is now in the previously unthinkable position of asking for assistance from friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
Mary Ruth has always been a generous person, willing to help those in need. She has donated to many charitable causes, never imagining that she would one day be the subject of a fundraiser. Those of you who know Mary Ruth know that she would not be seeking monetary assistance through GoFundMe if she had other available options.
Your donations will be used as a financial lifeline to pay for her medical costs, food, and basic living expenses until she is able to get back on solid footing again. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated.
A new treatment regimen is having encouraging results and Mary Ruth is hoping to be discharged within the next month.
With your generosity, she can survive this challenging period and rebuild her life. Thank you in advance for your support.
1/25/23: Friends, please note that this is legitimate and NOT a scam. If you write to me, I will give you my cell number and would be happy to answer ANY and ALL questions you might have. Here is my LinkedIn so you can see that I worked at BSC at the same time she did. I was on her team for a couple of years, but we have remained friends.
1/30/23: UPDATE: Great news! Mary Ruth is set to return home from the hospital on Thursday, February 2nd. Thank you all for your generosity! We have met our initial fundraising goal, but Mary Ruth still has a long road ahead of her and it will take time to get on her feet. Please share and help keep the momentum going!
