Mary Shields- Fighting the Big C

This page is dedicated to helping Mary in her battle. On February 7, 2023 {which happened to be her husband Don's birthday) We discovered that she had Stage IV Metastatic Lung Cancer, which has metastasized into her brain. Devastated, she bravely underwent emergency surgery to confront the tumor. Currently, she is recovering, and just completed her radiation treatments and is now in Chemo and Immunotherapy.

I love my Mom! She has been my rock, my inspiration, and my best friend. We have laughed, cried and celebrated life's ups and downs as a family and we pray that we will, for a long time to come.

Her love for a good book, a cozy blanket and trips to the wilderness are just a few things that make my Mom amazing. Her beautiful smile, quick wit and loyal heart are how most know her. She has been a dedicated hard working employee, wife and mother. Despite all of this, the weight of this fight has not changed these strengths in any way.

With the demands of having lost wages and the ongoing challenge of meeting specific Insurance requirements, transportation expenses, prescriptions and so forth, we are now at a loss for resources. We are reaching out to ask for help with the costs that are accruing daily as Mary engages in this struggle.
