Mary Wright - Hurricane Ian

Mary Wright is a longtime Fort Myers resident who has been wiped out by Hurricane Ian. Like a lot of other people in that area, she was surprised when the hurricane landed there instead of further north. Mary is my wife’s mother. 

The storm hit her area hard. Her house was leveled. Her car was destroyed. Her belongings all washed away.

Fortunately Mary and her little dog Maggie were able to ride out the storm at Mary’s daughter’s house, where they sat in the attic for most of the day while the house had 8 feet of water in it.

They’re staying now at a shelter set up at a school. Thank goodness for the Red Cross and all the volunteers helping out. It always amazes me how a really bad situation brings out the best in people.

Time will tell how insurance, disaster grants and other things come together to help her. I know she would deeply appreciate any help you can give. 

I put this GoFundMe campaign together. I’m Chris Johnson. Mary is my mother-in-law. I live in Powell OH. The use of the funds raised will be anything Mary needs to do to — living expenses, pay bills, whatever she needs.
