Maryland's Special Needs Students Need Your Help
Tax deductible
According to the 2019 Kirwan Commission’s independent report, Maryland needed to invest $3.9 Billion into the school system due to a lack of resources. Special needs students have not fully realized these funds and continue to struggle. With COVID-19, there was an even greater need to support the families of special needs students due to a lack of in-person instruction and resources to support continuous learning at home.
Hi, I am Akhil, ambassador of Arts-n-STEM4Hearts, and Youth Leader Champion of YSA/Hillshire Snacked. I am leading a project that supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4)- Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
What most students like me take for granted is very hard for special needs students to achieve. Witnessing firsthand students in special needs schools practice life essential skills was challenging, but it was even harder to see them lacking proper resources. With your help, we can change the situation one school (Longview) at a time, helping special needs students get their desperately-needed resources.
