Mary's Emergency Surgery & Recovery Fund

Hi everyone, As most of you know, I’m pursuing my dream of becoming a vet and recently took the chance of a lifetime to go to South Africa for wildlife veterinary training. While it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, it came to an abrupt end when I was taken to the emergency room. 

There’s always a risk -and while out working with Nyala antelope I was in an unfortunate accident where I broke both my distal radius and ulna. The accident occurred when an nyala we were working with and sedating became excited. I was pushed backwards off a truck due to being knocked by the nyala. The nyala jumped off the truck and took me along with it. I landed on my arm.

After having waited 3 days in the emergency room due to the demand to pay up front for the surgery in Africa, I am back in Ireland. After following up with a surgeon here, I was informed that my surgical repair was not done correctly. I’m currently at risk for losing function of my hand and wrist and need emergency surgery Friday to properly repair it.

Unfortunately none of this is covered by insurance and must be paid out of pocket. Can you help me in raising funds to pay for my hospital bill and surgery? Anything you can give would mean the world to me and help start me on my road to recovery <3
