Mary Theriault's Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
On April 27th our families lives were turned upside down. What began as a trip to urgent care with abdominal pain, led to a trip to the ER with the thought of it being a Gallbladder issue. After tests, procedures, scans, more tests and a biopsy the worst was confirmed. Mary Theriault, wife, mother of four daughters and grandma of 7 beautiful grandchildren, was diagnosed with Stage III Pancreatic Cancer.
Anyone who knows our mom knows that family is everything. She would drop everything to help out any way she could for anyone and taught us that no matter what is going on you always have your family. So when things were getting more and more serious at the hospital, our family dropped everything to be there for her. This is going to be the hardest fight of her life and we will continue to be there every step of the way.
Starting next week the oncologist is starting her on the strongest, most aggressive chemotherapy in hopes to shrink the tumor. As of right now, surgery is not an option because of the size and location of the tumor. We are hoping that this chemotherapy will shrink the tumor and make surgery possible. Even if surgery becomes an option, it will be very risky and a tough road ahead. Through all of this, we are staying positive and are going to fight this with everything we have!
Unfortunately, the medical bills have already started to pile up very quickly these past few weeks and will keep coming as the fight against cancer is very expensive. As a result of this diagnosis, we are hoping to move my mom and dad closer to family so that she has all the support she needs on a daily basis. Any and all support we receive will be going toward medical expenses, gas, and bills to help ease some of the financial burden. My family is extremely appreciative of all the support that is given and we cannot thank everyone enough during these very challenging times.
