Mary’s Medication Fund

Hi, my name is Mary and I’m starting a go fund me to help fund my treatment for my LHON disease (Lebers hereditary optic neuropathy disease)

It is a maternal disease which was passed through my mums genes and unfortunately NHS England will not fund this treatment of Idebenone which I need for 2 years.

My mum unfortunately was too late nearly 4 years ago and had lost her sight completely. But my consultants have proven that this is working on me. I started losing sight in September when I had a bad migraine and woke up with blurred vision in my left eye.

I didn’t expect to be in this situation and now I’m having to pay nearly £300 every 12 weeks to slow this disease down so I can still go about my daily life.

I am undergoing numerous tests every 3

months and awaiting the news to find out whether I will be put on trails at some point this year.

So even if it is £1 or £10 I will be forever greatful! Thankyou
