Masc-Off Weekend Fundraising Campaign
Donation protected
Who are we?:
Founded in January 2019, Masc-Off is a community organization based in Washington D.C. committed to dismantling harmful forms of masculinity in ourselves and in others. Our purpose is to promote gender justice and prevent gender-based violence by applying what is learned during monthly workshops to our daily lives. For more information, please visit our website and follow us on major social media platforms @mascoffofficial.
This Fundraiser:
Since March 2020, we've used the lens of gender justice to support direct action in response to COVID-19, and most recently, in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
In our workshop this week, our male-identified members had an opportunity to challenge toxic masculinity by being truly vulnerable in community and exploring and sharing their current emotional state. The work is connected; from gaslighting and microaggressions to state-sanctioned violence, toxic masculinity plays a role in devaluing black lives, experiences, and feelings.
Please join us in putting financial resources toward National Bailout and Black Lives Matter D.C., two incredible organizations at the national and local level directly supporting Black folks and marginalized voices. We invite and challenge our community to match what we have raised, $1,500. 100% of donations will go to the two beneficiary organizations. Deadline is this Sunday, 6/7!
More info on fundraiser beneficiaries:
National Bailout - The National Bail Out collective is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. We are people who have been impacted by cages — either by being in them ourselves or witnessing our families and loved ones be encaged. We are queer, trans, young, elder, and immigrant.
Black Lives Matter DC - Black Lives Matter DC is a radical collective of Black artists, infrastructure builders and movement healers and strategists from the future, organizing in the here and now around two movement equations. These equations inform how we live as our highest selves while dismantling White Supremacy, Patriarchy, Capitalism, Imperialism and the role the state plays in supporting them.
Thank you so much for your support!
Love,
Masc-Off
