Masjid Construction Project (Basement)

Tax deductible
Assalaamu Alaikum,

In the 21st century, the role of the masjid is as important as it was in the time of our Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).  At the Islamic Center of East Brunswick (ICEB), our purpose is to advance the Islamic faith through the provision of a wide range of spiritual, educational, and social services enriched with Islamic values.

Our vision is to become a center of excellence for Islamic learning and practice providing a beacon for both Muslims and other faith communities who wish to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of Islam – a place where one can experience and embrace the genuine beauty of our faith.

We have been working on plans for a new mosque for a while and Alhamdulillah we have collected enough funds to start the project in June/July this year.  We need your assistance so please join us to support this noble cause in the noble month.  Righteous deeds are better when done at times of virtue, and undoubtedly the last ten nights of Ramadan are better than any other nights, because Laylat al-Qadr is among them, which is better than a thousand months.

Our History
In 2004, the Muslim residents of East Brunswick wanted a place to perform 5 daily prayers in congregation and East Brunswick Congregational Church was very accommodating in renting a space to them.  This laid the foundation of IQRA Community Services and a Mussallah was formed.  East Brunswick Congregational Church decided to sell the Church to IQRA Community Services in 2011 as they decided to move to another location.  Community members joined together and purchased the Church for $525K over three fixed yearly payments.  The new by-laws were adopted in 2013 and members decided to name this place as Islamic Center of East Brunswick.   To meet the demands of the expanding community, it was decided to build a mosque on the current location as the community's needs have increased from just daily prayers.  Jummah prayers were started at the end of 2013 and Sunday school was established in 2014 with the concept of teaching kids the basics of Islam at very economical charges without being a burden on parents.  Alhamdulillah, after a long journey we are in a position to start construction in June/July this year.  Insha'Allah, we will be doing the project in multiple phases, and Phase I consists of Site work and Building construction (shell only).  For this phase, we are short of funds by approx. $300K.
