Build a Masjid In Honor of Imam Dr. Mohamed Hassan

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-Raḥmatu'llāhi wa-Barakātuhū,

My name is Shukri Mohamed Hassan Adam and I am the daughter of the late Imam Dr. Mohamed Hassan Adam. On Dec 22nd Dr. Mohamed went missing at around 7 pm. His lifeless body was found on Dec 25th at around 5 pm.

As Muslims, we believe every soul has a date to expire and to Allah, we will return. May Allah accept Dr. Mohamed as a martyr. Before he passed away, Dr. Mohamed was building a Masjid and a Madrasa (Islamic school) for orphans in the city of Kismayo, Somalia.

After locals from the area complained about not having a masjid and Islamic school nearby, Dr. Mohamed took it upon himself in 2020 to start the construction of the masjid and the Islamic school. Alhamdulillah with the help of Allah he was able to complete the exterior structure of the masjid (which can host up to 400 worshipers and students) and finish the Islamic school which is currently under operation. It is my dream to help finish the work my father started and to honor his life by completing the project he took upon himself.

The Prophet said “When a man dies, his good deeds come to an end, except three: Ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who will pray for him.” Hadith | Sahih Muslim. We are hoping with your help (The Reader), we will share with you the Ajar of building a Masjid for the sake of Allah in a community that struggles to find a place to hold their 5 daily prayers in congregations.

Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
