Mask on, March on! Masks for Healthcare Providers
Donation protected
Mission
New York, with over 180,000 positive cases and over 9,000 deaths, has quickly become the epicenter of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and our hospitals will experience major shortages in the coming weeks. Mayor Bill de Blasio says public hospitals in NYC only have enough critical proper personal protective equipment, or PPE, to get through the next week. Hospitals will need a projected 3 million N95 respirators and 50 million surgical masks to fight this battle.
As members of the community, we should not be sitting on the sidelines waiting for the COVID-19 pandemic to play out while many others are fighting on the front line without PPE to protect themselves. Almost 10% of COVID-19 cases in Italy are healthcare workers due to massive shortages in PPE. Let’s work together to prevent this from happening in our city. Family members of medical workers are concerned about the well-being of their loved ones who are sometimes forced to reuse the same mask because of limited supplies. In some cases, nurses and doctors are afraid of infecting their families so they take residence elsewhere, only seeing their families from afar.
Our heroes in healthcare deserve to be protected so that they can better serve our community. We cannot afford to wait.
Goal
Our goal is simple. Get Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifically masks, into the hands of doctors, nurses & the healthcare staff. To help meet this challenge, we have teamed up with a supplier to manufacture the masks. We will then distribute the masks to hospitals across the city!
Please consider contributing any amount you can to help address the massive shortage of PPE for healthcare providers.100% of the donations will be used to purchase NIOSH certified N95s and surgical masks in larger quantities! We will provide documentation and proof that all funds were used accordingly and that the masks were received by hospitals.
$5,000 ~ Make initial order of surgical masks and face shields. (Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan hospitals)
$10,000 ~ 2nd order of surgical masks and goggles. (The Bronx hospitals)
$10,000+ ~ goggles and reusable face masks (Manhattan hospitals + Queens VNSNY hospice program)
Any amount isn't too small!
