Mask Response at Suay
Donation protected
THIS IS A TIME TO STEP UP.
Every choice we make now can reduce the negative impact of this experience.
Our first responders NEED PROTECTION to keep working on the front lines!
We are writing from Suay Sew Shop.
Suay is a community supported remade sewing shop in Frogtown, Los Angeles. We lean on our community to provide livable wages to low income and immigrant workers. Now we want to help support our community in return. We are already starting to produce masks in accordance to CDC recommendation of replacement when N95 masks are unavailable. We have two prototypes for front line responders and a mask for other crews that will continue to keep us healthy and fed during this time. Suay has set up extra precautions to ensure the safety of our team and the products we will produce.
Suay can donate all of our resources, energy, machines and our community driven organizational power, but we need you on board!
We are working with doctors, grocery stores, the city of LA, and nursing organizations to get 10,000 masks distributed next week and more to follow! Continuing to keep producing 10,000 masks a week.
We are working to get as much fabric and resources donated as we possibly can but we need YOUR help.
Heather Pavlu is co-owner of Suay Sew Shop, these funds will be used for labor of masks and any supplies we are not able to have donated.
