Masks For D6
Tax deductible
Supervisor Haney and our non-profit partners are asking for your help to flatten the curve and protect our community! We are holding this fundraising campaign in order to secure reusable cloth masks quickly, for District 6 residents who do not have access to cloth masks or proper facial coverings.
According to the CDC, wearing a mask is a necessary step to stop the spread of the virus. It is heart-breaking to see so many of our community members not having access to basic protective masks that can mean life or death for all of us.
All donations will be used to pay for masks and hand sanitizers that we will be distributing for free to District 6 community members who need a mask.
Who the Organizers Are:
Supervisor Matt Haney is a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, representing District 6 (Tenderloin, Civic Center, Mid-Market, SOMA, Yerba Buena, Rincon Hill, South Beach, Mission Bay, Treasure Island).
United Playaz is a San Francisco-based violence prevention and youth development, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. They provide a comprehensive range of services to prepare vulnerable youth for higher education, employment, and healthy living within a safe, nurturing, and collaborative environment. During COVID-19, UP and other SOMA organizations immediately organized a collective campaign to provide food and other essential groceries to seniors and low income families in SOMA. In continuing their efforts to serve the community they are teaming up with Supervisor Matt Haney to raise enough funds to purchase 10,000 masks to pass out to District 6 residents
Who Are We Partnering with To Get Masks
We are partnering with several local craft makers in the city that are reaching out to us to help support. We are also teaming up with VIDA to produce bulk orders. VIDA is headquartered in West SOMA and brings together creatives and manufacturers from around the world to create unique, art inspired apparel, accessories and home goods. In response to COVID-19, they've redirected their efforts to produce the product that matters the most right now -- Personal Protective Masks. They know millions of people and organizations need Protective Masks for themselves, their essential employees, and their communities and are here to help make them accessible.
