Accessible Clear-windowed Deaf-friendly Face Masks
Donation protected

Thank you for reading my message!
My name is Neil Pandey and I am learning American Sign Language in high school. The standard face masks worn during the COVID-19 pandemic make lipreading and interpreting facial expressions and cues impossible for the hard of hearing. The Deaf heavily rely on these cues for communication in hospitals, offices and grocery stores. Without these cues, they struggle with trying to understand what is being said and giving an appropriate response.
I am making clear-windowed masks that make lip-reading accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing. The masks will be donated to essential services including grocery stores and healthcare facilities. The staff can switch to these masks whenever they are talking to someone who is hard of hearing.
Any GoFundMe donations will be used to purchase raw material for making the masks such as fabric, wire, clear plastic and thread . It will also be used to pay for shipping costs and making available other commercial-grade clear-windowed masks to the receiving facilities, depending upon their needs. Thank you in advance for your support by sharing my GoFundMe Page or considering donating.
Stay safe, stay healthy and stay positive!
