Masks for WI
Donation protected
My name is Amanda Wolfgram.
I am a nurse practitioner at a hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
There has been a cry throughout my state and country for the need for masks to help protect against the transmission of COVID-19. I am listening to the call from my work colleagues and other front-line personnel (specifically police departments in the Appleton area).
Partnering with the local Wisconsin small business BenShot, we are buying sewing machines, fabric and supplies. I am going to teach their employees how to sew.
I am setting out with the vision to donate as many cloth masks as we can make to any hospital, police department, nursing home, fire department, grocery store, homeless shelter, etc. that asks for them.
These are by no means a replacement for N95 or surgical masks but they are far better than having nothing to wear. This is the reality for those who continue to service our communities due to the nationwide mask shortage. Around the country cloth masks are a solution many have begun to consider and implement.
These funds will be used to help achieve the goal of creating 100 masks per day. This includes buy the sewing machines, fabric and other sewing supplies (pins, rotary cutters, cutting mats, thread, etc.).
Once created they will be distributed directly to those who are requesting them starting with the police departments in the Appleton area. The remainder will go Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Please donate to help protect as many Wisconsinites as we can from Covid-19.
If you know an organization in need of masks please reach out to us at: [email redacted].
