Mason King Healing & Recovery

*Edit: Due to the extremely high cost of temporary housing needed while Mason is in Critical Long Term Care at The Daniel Drake Center in Cincinnati, we are increasing the goal amount from 15k to 25k. The additional expense for his parents to be close to Mason's facility is approximately $2000+ per month. This additional 10k will go directly towards housing, travel, and living expenses. Thank you all so much for helping to support Mason and the King family during this difficult time.
Hello friends and family,
Last month Greg and Deven's only son, Mason (21), was in a severe car accident and has suffered Traumatic Brain Injury. Mason was given a 1% chance to live, was not expected to have a quality of life, and was predicted to remain in a permanent vegative state. With God’s grace and mercy he has proven that theory wrong. He has become more functional everyday and is already a medical miracle.
In order to optimize his chance of recovery, Mason needs to be placed in a specialized facility that works exclusively with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Thankfully, he has been accepted to the University of Cincinnati’s Daniel Drake Center for Long Term Acute Care. Once he becomes medically stabilized and semi conscious, Mason will transfer to the Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He will undergo extensive therapy for Disorders of Consciousness (DoC) where 70% of their patients have regained consciousness.
Though the family does have medical insurance, it will only cover 30 days of this specialized rehab (60 day minimum stay). This program is crucial to ensure the best possible outcome for Mason.
The location of these facilities will not allow his mother, Deven, to return to her career as a teacher in Florida. Her job is their source of insurance and main income. She will be taking unpaid FLMA and will need temporary housing as Mason goes through the recovery process in both Cincinnati and Columbus.
According to the family’s bank, they need approximately $15,000 to support themselves through the next 5 months of their son’s treatment. All temporary housing expenses and rehabilitation expenses will be documented and available to view at any time.
We know that with intensive prayers, faith, medical treatment, rehab, and support from family & friends that Mason will eventually live a joyous life and be a great testimony to the world.
Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this page as well.
We want Mason to be the person to walk out of the hospital and say, “LOOK AT ME! I AM ALIVE! I AM A MIRACLE and I HAVE A PURPOSE”!
We are claiming healing and recovery. We are commanding sickness and injury to leave Mason now in the Name of Jesus.
