Mason Plott Needs An Accessible Van

This campaign is being started on behalf of Mason Plott. The story necessitating this GoFundMe account began on July 23, 2002 when Mason, his grandmother, and brother were taking a road trip to visit his grandfather. Mason was nearly two years old, and his brother, Jordan, was six at the time. A drunk driver behind the wheel of a large truck pulling a horse trailer was in the opposite lane. He attempted to pass someone in front of him; a head-on collision between car and truck occurred. Mason's grandmother was killed on impact, and Mason was injured and pinned in his car seat by the weight of objects in the car. Mason became paralyzed from the chest down as a result of the accident. (Maddeningly, the drunk driver was never held accountable for his reckless actions).

After the initial surgeries and hospital visits to keep Mason alive, he has faced many difficult health problems as a direct result of this accident 14 years ago. He has had the undying support of his loving, patient parents and other family members and friends, but to be sure, this is no small task financially or emotionally. Mason is a very strong person, much stronger than many adults and certainly much kinder and appreciative of the gift of life. He is bravery in human form.

Mason is currently in the hospital fighting a bone infection and colitis. As of this writing, the outlook is good, and the doctors are optimistic of his recovery within a handful of weeks.

While this goal is ambitious, know that any amount will be incredibly appreciated and helpful. Aside from needing a wheel-chair-accessible van, there are other costs that your donation can help with:
