Hello , I am Stephanie Martínez creating this Go Fund me on behalf of my family member. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this story. Mason Rodriguez was born 8 years ago and right after birth Mason had his first surgery, it was determined he had a severe heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) is a birth defect, where the left side of the heart is underdeveloped, which affects normal blood flow through the heart. This was the first of many staged reconstruction heart surgeries (9) to date. Unfortunately, Mason must undergo yet another operation. One can’t imagine the impact of increasing medical bills, copayments , medication expenses , and loss of salary, for Mason’s mother who is a teacher and father a construction worker who have to take turns caring for him. Mason is a bright, smart, young boy who miraculously always maintains a positive spirit . He is strong, but his heart is weak. We strongly believe there continues to be room for God to move in powerful ways as we ask for prayers of strength for Mason and his family during this difficult time.
