World Massage Championship in Denmark

My name is Carrie Deslippe, and I am trying to get to Copenhagen, Denmark, to represent Canada in the World Massage Championships (June 2023). I am also being inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame (July 2023) in Cherokee, North Carolina, for my contributions to the field of massage therapy. There is an opportunity for me to compete in this year’s American Massage Championships (July 2023), also in Cherokee. In order to participate in these international events, I need travel and accommodation funds as well as entry fees, which are beyond my scope of affordability.

A Little More About Me

I’m not someone who is very comfortable with asking for help. I like helping other people. Throughout my life, I have been put in positions of having to rise above adversities which others have said to me would be insurmountable barriers. But I’m a fighter. I’ve had to learn to walk again and have had to adapt my own unique method of applying pressure in my practice.

A Little More About My Practice

I founded the award-winning Above & Beyond Massage Therapy Clinic in 2008. Our goal is to help our clients to need our services less and understand better how to care for their bodies in ways which are sustainable and holistically enriching. My practice is inextricably linked to my own experiences with physical rehabilitation and recovery toward thriving.

A Little More About The Events

Massage Championships – an opportunity to strengthen and improve skills; an issuing of a certificate which enables massage therapists to brand their business in a new way. Governed by the International Massage Association and as part of the World Massage Festival & Massage Therapy Hall of Fame, it honours those who built the bridges for our profession, educates the general public about massage, educates therapists about different types of massage, and provides an opportunity to have fun. This has been a lifelong dream of mine to both visit Europe and compete in these championships.

Whether you can offer a large sum or whatever is comfortable for you, you will be helping me to realize lifelong dreams and assert that I have overcome barriers which others have said I never would.
