Mat the Alien : Really Good Fundraiser

Mat the Alien is a world-class DJ, dad, athlete, and an all-around stellar human. He is entering the next stage of healing and growth following a horrific bike accident in October 2020 that left him a person with quadriplegia. This fundraiser aims to raise funds with three specific goals to help Mat over the next year: moving, an electric wheelchair, and an adapted van.

Goal #1: Moving Costs $10,000

Mat is moving from Nanaimo to downtown Squamish where he will live independently for the first time since his accident. Costs will include moving his belongings, personal transportation from the island, purchasing adaptive equipment for the home, and covering initial set-up costs for his apartment.

Goal #2: Power Wheelchair $40,000

Mat will need a power wheelchair to have independence with day-to-day tasks. With a power wheelchair, he will be free to do daily chores, wheel downtown for groceries & more, and be social in the community.

Goal#3: Adapted Vehicle $50,000

Mat also needs an adapted van. Once the first two goals have been attained, all remaining funds will go towards an accessible van and the licensing / training required to operate.

Since moving home from the hospital and spinal rehab clinic in 2020, Mat has been very busy producing music from his home studio. He is busy recording a number of different projects that will be out next year while also managing his own record label Really Good Records.
