MATES Classic Bunker Bay 300
The MATES Classic Bunker Bay 300 is the Ultimate Corporate Bike Monument Challenge that raises money for mental health support and suicide awareness in the Construction Industry challenging senior executives who have a passion for cycling and an awareness of their corporate social responsibilities, to ride 306 kilometres in a single day.
The event is being held by CIDN Perth (Construction Industry Drinks and Networking) who are the leading industry networking association in Western Australia to support our charity partner MATES in Construction to promote their mission to raise awareness of the mental health and suicide problems within the construction and mining industries.
This event was organised for selected individuals who have the necessary fitness, experience and skill to complete this extraordinary challenging physical effort and to directly support mental health and suicide initiatives in the Construction Industry.
MATES in Construction WA (MIC WA) is a health promotion charity with the specific purpose of raising awareness about the high rate of suicide in the building and construction industry. This is accomplished by MIC's community development health & wellbeing program that empowers workers and their family's, to recognise when their MATE is doing it tough, what to do about it, AND be able to link MATES to the help. The MIC program includes education (GAT, Connector & ASIST) which is derived from an internationally recognised suicide prevention program; as well as a 24/7 helpline, and Mon - Fri Case Management support for workers and their family. All of MIC WA services are FREE to workers and their family.www.matesinconstruction.org.au
