Matt Bell, veteran, cancer trip

Matt Bell is a veteran, fighting stage 4, small cell, lung cancer. His cancer is likely the result of drinking & bathing in contaminated water, on the marine base, where he served. Sadly, there is no cure for this fast growing cancer. We are extremely thankful, thus far Matt has responded well to the chemotherapy treatments. This cancer has a life expectancy of 8 to11 months. He has been fighting it for 21 months & still says that he doesn’t feel like he’s dying. He’s been doing the 2nd line of chemotherapy drugs, every 3 weeks, since October. They don’t expect these meds to work much longer and the next step is a highly toxic combination of 2 immunotherapy drugs. This treatment is experimental & we hope he responds to & tolerates it well. Although he is eligible for medical care through the Camp LeJeune Veteran funds, he was denied disability.
I am setting up this fundraiser, because Matt really wants to visit his birth place (Benson, Arizona) before he dies. SO many people have asked us how they can help him. Please consider making a donation to help him realize this dream. 

We are planning to do this trip in June,  before we start the 3rd line treatments.  I want him to go while he is still able to get around. The first line of chemo has taken it’s toll on his nerve endings & he has a lot of pain in his feet.
I know that Matt has so many friends. If everyone gives, even a small amount, we should reach this goal in no time! No amount is too small. Every penny helps!
