Matt Davide Playing With My Friends Video Project
Donation protected
This is a tough and unprecedented time for performing musicians. Gigs have disappeared and folks have been stuck trying to find new ways to put food on the table. I have been inspired by the ways that artists of all types have been adapting to the COVID-19 situation and it has become increasingly clear how important art is for our health and well-being.
At the end of March I decided to reach out to friends of mine and test out recording audio/video of a few short songs: a mix of composition and shortened covers. I’m very proud of the following videos that we created:
Test Drive #1
Test Drive #2
The Crunge (Led Zeppelin)
These videos feature some of the amazing performers that will be involved with this project: my friends. They were nice enough to donate their time to make these and now the goal is to produce some more, full-length videos and help musicians recoup lost income from cancelled gigs.
To fairly compensate the musicians and cover sound mixing/video editing each video will cost an average of $650. I’ve mapped out three awesome songs to record next and am hoping to raise $2,000 to produce them. This would supplement a fraction of the lost income due to the pandemic for these amazing artists, and if we go over that goal I will put it towards making more videos!
Here are the awesome collaborators for these three proposed videos:
Hannah Lebel (vocals)
Nicole D’Elisa (vocals)
Avery Cooper (saxophone)
Matt Dolliver (saxophone)
Taylor Smith (saxophone)
Glen Wallace (trumpet)
Christopher Hawthorn (trumpet & sound mixing)
Nate Reit (trombone)
Jesse Metzler (trombone)
Mike Fried (keyboard)
Derek Rice (keyboard)
Jacob Ungerleider (keyboard)
Colin Lenox (guitar)
Marshall Dominguez (guitar)
Collin Craig (guitar)
Dan Bishop (bass)
Craig Myers (percussion)
Caleb Bronz (drums)
Cotter Ellis (drums)
Dan Ryan (drums)
Brendan Keogh (video editing)
If these test videos brought you any entertainment please consider donating to support these great musicians and friends of mine. I understand many folks are having financial difficulties right now and if you are unable to donate but want to support this project please share this page with other music lovers. If successful, I’d love to produce a few rounds of this project with different themes, song requests and more!
