Matt Dawson Car Accident Relief Fund
On Friday, August 28, Matt was on his way home on I35 in New Braunfels when he came over a blind hill to discover another accident had stopped traffic across the highway.
Matt was unable to steer clear or avoid the traffic in front of him and ended up flipping his van several times before coming to a stop in the median between the North and Southbound lanes. By God's grace, Matt lived.
He has no head injuries and his spine is in tact with no sign of injury. The rest of his body, however, didn't fare as well.
Matt's hip was severely dislocated, causing the C cuff to break into 7 pieces. The surgery to repair his hip went well, though Matt will not be allowed to walk on it for a minimum of 4-6 weeks. He also suffered several breaks in his left hand, his left clavicle, and the ribs on his left side. The injuries he sustained in his hand are being examined as the swelling goes down, and may require more surgery to repair.
Matt will need to be in a rehabilitation hospital for several weeks, as his body heals. Insurance will cover some costs, but he's going to need help with his cost of living, and caring for his son, as well.
Anything you can donate to help Matt will be appreciated, more than you know.
