Matt Fry’s Cancer Journey

This is such a painful story to tell, but it needs to be told in order to help Matt and his mom while dealing with an unfathomable circumstance.

At the end of July, Matt started complaining of headaches and then digestive issues. With different sicknesses going around, we thought maybe he caught a virus.

Fast forward to September, Matt went to the doctor and was diagnosed incorrectly with alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis and had a follow up appointment which he did not make because he ended up in the hospital.

His mother was getting scared and knew he may not make it to his follow up appointment and took him to the hospital where he ended up being taken by a life flight to a hospital that could better help him. Upon looking at Matt, the doctors knew that this was something different than what he was originally diagnosed with.

One week after being in the hospital, Matt was diagnosed with Large B-Cell Lymphoma that has metastasized into his liver and spleen. They started Matt on an aggressive chemo the same day they diagnosed him.

Matt will be in the hospital for an unseen amount of time. We are raising money to help his mother pay for medical expenses which will go directly to her.

Not only are we raising money, we are asking for prayers. Matt has two small children that need him to pull through this. Matt’s mom, family, and everyone who loves and knows Matt also are in need of prayer for comfort. We know that God is in control; He’s the great healer and hears our prayers.
