Matt Graff Funeral and Medical Expenses

Tuesday April 18th started out like any other morning for Matt, Melissa, and the kids. At 6:30 in the morning Melissa talked to Matt, told him she loved him, kissed him goodbye and headed off to work.

At 7:30 Melissa received a phone call from Matt’s phone and on the other end was their daughter Maddie distraught telling Melissa that, “Daddy is dying!” Melissa quickly hung up called 911 and rushed home. Maddie heard her dad fall so she went into the bathroom and seen him laying in the tub, she shut off the water, and called Melissa. Upon Melissa’s arrival, the paramedics were performing CPR and during that time Matt didn’t have a pulse. They got his pulse back and continued doing CPR on the way to the hospital and also while at the hospital. Melissa was informed that Matt went into cardiac arrest. He wasn’t breathing on his own so he was put on a ventilator. After several tests they found his heart was good, blood pressure stabilized and they were even able to turn down the oxygen. They had him sedated to tolerate the tube but after some time they decided to take him off sedation to see if he would be reactive. After several brain scans the Dr. and several other brain specialists reviewed and found that Matt was brain dead.

The medical team has done a significant amount of testing and a cause has not been identified.

Matt being the giving, selfless, and loving man that he is, he opted to be an organ donor. In the next days recipients will be located and then he will be making his journey to his final resting place.

Matt will be leaving behind his loving wife of 10 years (together for 15) and two beautiful smart children Mason (9) and Maddie (6).

Due to the sudden unexpected loss, Melissa will need to take care of funeral arrangements and will be burdened with all of the medical expenses. With having to take off of work to make arrangements, care for the children and herself this creates a financial hardship for her and the children.
