Matt Mizrahi Funeral and Memorial

Hey guys my name is Zach. Myself and a  lot of Matt’s close friends wanted to set up this go fund me in order  to help assist the family financially during this difficult time for them. Due to unforeseen  circumstances the funeral cost will not  be covered and will fall on the family. We personally don’t believe that any family should have to deal with this, especially for a man that served his country  honorably and  also gave service to his community by  serving as a Police Officer. By him giving back to his country and  community with selfless service, I feel we can come  together and help out his family in anyway we can. Matt is mourned by his wife and 4 kids.
In the Marines Corp he served With         V3/2 (an infantry battalion).

He Deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 as   vic 1 M2 machine gunner for CAAT Red, wpns Co. He was given a Navy Achievement Medal with Valor  during his time overseas. For a short  story that describes Matt’s character,  during a firefight, he got a M2 machine gun up that an 0311 was manning and  repelled a squad plus of insurgents who attacked at night with rocket propelled.  grenades and machine guns insuring the safety of his squad. He did all this and his silkies and Camo crocks! When Matt left 3/2 that is when I met him at Battle Skills Training school where he served at the Chief Instructor and Lead Machine Gun instructor passing on his knowledge to other Marines.

When he honorably left the Marines.       Corp, once again he felt an obligation to  serve this time by becoming a police          officer in Wilmington NC. 

This is  the least we can do for someone who sacrificed so much for us and was     always there to be a friend to all.
