Matt Prior

My name is Laurel and I’m fundraising for my friend, Matt. He is battling hard for his life.

His little girl and girlfriend Lauren. need all the help and prayers. This little family has grown so much in 3 years. Breaks my heart.

Matt never asks for help. He would tackle it first then ask. His daughter and girlfriend are his world.

A little update from Lauren:

Matthew is still intubated and very sick. He’s to sick to do the craniotomy they had planned to do today. The dr just came and talked with Lauren and told her how scary his outlook could be if that brain swells any more. And days 3 and 4 usually hold the most swelling. I told him how proud of matt I was for doing so well and he pretty much gave it to brutally again, “ just remember he is very Sick and we have no Idea what this tbi will hold”

So that caused a lot more worry in my heart but at least their not sugar coating anything.

He has had a really good comfortable day. No major episodes and has even been squeezing my hands and wiggling his toes. They have placed him back into a pretty heavy sedation because he’s right on the cusp of either doing really well or this not ending well at all. So we need to keep him calm and comfortable until the swelling from yesterday’s surgery goes away.

Brains are so tricky and never are two brain injuries alike. We do not even know what the next hour holds.

He’s so very strong and he’s fighting his heart out. Matts been through hell and back and he’s not giving up now. Plz say a prayer for him. Lauren had to tell their daughter today how sick her daddy is, and she’s having a hard time with all of this.
