Matt Turner Family Benefit

Donation protected
Matt Turner was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2020.
He fought this disease valiantly, undergoing brain surgery, as well as numerous radiation treatments. Matt's journey was painful and full of difficult challenges, but through it all, he battled with everything he had. Matt's faith in God remained steadfast and his favorite scripture was “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me" Philippians 4:13. Matt not only believed this scripture, he lived it.

Tragically, Matt lost his battle to brain cancer on November 18th, 2021. Matt was an amazing, son, brother, cousin, uncle and loving husband and father to his wife and two sons. He was a dear friend and dedicated employee.

Matt leaves behind so many broken hearts of those who loved and supported him. Tracy, his wife of 30 years, was the love of his life. Their oldest son, Joshua, is 17 and in ROTC. Luke, their youngest son, is 13 and plays trumpet in his school band. Both are outdoorsmen who enjoy hunting and fishing like their Dad.

Matt also leaves behind his parents, Jan and Charles Turner, who loved him endlessly. They were diligent until the end, supporting him in every way possible. Matt's big brother, Mark was his best friend.
Matt worked for Cameron/Schlumberger for 12 Years. It wasn’t just a job to him, he loved his work and was very good at it. The people he worked with became a second family to him.

Along the way God put very special people in Matt and Tracy's lives, to help them navigate this brutal disease. They were surrounded by a large circle of loving supporters, who continued to call, text and pray for them. There are so many the family would like to thank, including Matt's medical team at MD Anderson, their church families and pastors, Matt's co-workers, friends and of course, the family.

Matt's final message as we worked on this benefit was to thank everyone for all of their love and support, and especially for the prayers.

Neuroblastoma is not who Matt was - but this long, debilitating disease left a path of damage. Matt's inability, to work along with his enormous medical bills, left his family with financial challenges.
