Matt Warner Blumira Tattoo Charity Fundraiser

What is this all about:

Matt Warner, Co-founder and CTO of Blumira has finally been convinced to get a Blumira tattoo! This is a big deal (Matt only has one other very small tattoo) so we decided to use this special occasion to also raise money for a good cause! After consulting with the Blumira employees we decided to raise money for Food Gatherers.

The charity:

Food Gatherers is a food bank and food rescue program serving Washtenaw County. The lead agency for hunger relief in the County, Food Gatherers supports a network of 170 community partners with free and low-cost food, deliveries, and trainings. They operate several large direct service programs — the Food Gatherers Community Kitchen, the Summer Food Service Program, and the Healthy School Pantry Program — and work closely with community schools, universities, and healthcare providers to address gaps in services. Because hunger will not be solved with food alone, they advocate for policies and system changes to create an equitable food system.

This is how the fundraiser will work:

The more money we raise, the bigger and more elaborate the tattoo will be!

Our first goal is $5,000. If we raise this amount Matt will get a Mira tattoo (Mira is a hedgehog and the Blumira mascot) in color about the size of standard business card. Once we raise this amount we will set a new goal that will increase the size and complexity of the tattoo.

Where/when will this happen:

Matt already has a tattoo appointment set for November 19th at Brite Idea Tattoo in Ypsilanti with Sarah Grossman. Sarah is a very talented local artist. Check her out on Instagram @sgrossman_ink
