Donation protected
Matthew Gillam was feeling chest pains in the Middle of July and got told he needed open heart surgery. Matthews surgery happened August 17th and is currently recovering in Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. Matthew being the proud Father of two beautiful little girls and a husband to a devoting wife. Matthew was diagnosed with a leaking valve and an aneurysm so large, its unheard of in a 33 year old. They called it the aneurysm of a 65 year old. He was told immediately he would need open heart surgery as soon as possible. An aneurysm that size could rupture at any time. The procedure done to replace his damaged heart valve with a donor valve and graph was used to repair his aneurysm was a success, but the surgery involved cutting him open and breaking his ribs to access his heart. Matthew has a long journey to start with his recovery once he gets out of the hospital, He wont be able to work for around 6 months or even ride in a vehicle for quite sometime. We are asking for your help financial to assist Matthew and his family through this long hard process.
