Matthew H. King Memorial Fund

Our beloved Matthew H. King, MBA passed away on August 30, 2021. Matt was an amazing son, brother, uncle, fraternity brother and friend. Matt leaves behind a legion of family and friends to cherish his memory. 

Matt’s life was dedicated in servitude of others; particularly the past few years. Matt has been a true facilitator for change and reform in the Baltimore area since relocating from Morristown, NJ in 2010, making the Harlem Park community of Baltimore his community. 

In 2018, seeking to reform the disinvestment in the community, Matt founded the Harlem Park Community Development Corporation. The Community Development Corporation’s mission is to develop and execute community-focused initiatives that will provide upward mobility and progressive lifestyles for all Baltimore residents with authority, empowerment, and energy. Offering programs that grant residents access to nutritional foods, safe and secure housing options, security and safety procedures to decrease crime, and youth development programs to educate and mentor our communities' youth properly.

Matt spent much of his life pouring into others, so much so that he unfortunately at times disregarded his own needs for the sake of others.
