MATTHEW LYONS

We are fundraising for a beloved son, brother, friend and local Manasquan Police Special 1 Officer Matthew Lyons.

Matt was born and raised in Manasquan, NJ and is a Manasquan High School Alumni (2019). Matt recently graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.S. in Spanish. He also played on the Gettysburg Football team and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon for all four years. He has been serving the community for 3 years as an officer of the Manasquan Police Department, aspiring to one day be an Air Marshall.

On Sunday, August 6th, Matt was on his way home from his girlfriend's house to get ready for his next night shift. While driving his moped in Point Pleasant, NJ, Matt was involved in a serious accident. He was immediately rushed to the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, where he has been in the Intensive Care Unit since. Sadly, Matt has sustained several life-threatening injuries including brain bleeding, a broken collarbone, punctured lungs and other fractures in his back. He is currently unconious and intubated but, thankfully, is in stable condition.

We are kindly asking for donations to help alleviate medical bills and expenses that Matt and the Lyons family may incur. Please spread the word and keep Matt and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Matt is a tough, strong-willed and upstanding guy. We are hopeful for a full recovery.
