Matthew 'Mangyna' Militello's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Hello everyone. This is Amy Militello, Matthew's sister. I will be the first one to admit this is tacky. That being said, Matthew has a lot of friends and I have had several folks reach out to me directly to see what they can do for Matt.
Matthew was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma (alk +) in December. He was here visiting from LA when he received his diagnosis, so we were fortunate enough that he could stay in Ohio and be treated at OSU. Honestly, it was a blessing. Matt just had his 4th chemo treatment of 6 - the last one is May 1. The doctors think Matt's cancer, while aggressive, is highly treatable and even curable. We're hoping for good news at the end of May. Matt is responding well, but he is tired. He has good days and bad - mostly bad around days 7-9 after chemo. He hasn't been great at returning texts or messages.
Why the fund? Clearly Matt is not working. He is living with VJ in Grove City with no transportation, so he feels isolated (although he shouldn't be around a lot of people or traveling). Immediate family is pitching in to cover expenses, but of course it adds up quickly. If you feel so inclined to give, funds will be used to cover Matt's bills, Ubers, Ensure, food, and other necessities for him. Yes he applied for financial aid, but right now it's only medical (which is the most important, I know).
THANK YOU in advance! I just figured this was an easier way to both give and manage donations. I know he will be appreciative. He would also welcome words of encouragement and loves mail that isn't a bill, so feel free to send cards to me at 966 Arcadia Blvd 43082. Make sure to send me your address after giving so Matt/we can thank you! As Matt says - Love you, Boo! Kiss noise!! xoxo
